Description: This crab is greenish black with some white spots on it.  It has long legs and not very big claws.  The body is flat.

Habitat:Found in the splash zone of the intertidal.  Places that have lots of wave action on rocks.
Range (include invasive, native, endemic): Native to Hawaii and the Indo-Pacific.
Trophic information:This crab is a scavenger and eats: dead organisms and other crabs.  It is eaten by: other crabs and fish.
Safety: This like all other crabs with claws pinch so watch out when handling them.  Hold it from the back on its carrapace.  Also when collecting the organism you might slip and fall because the rocks may be slippery.
